Road Trip Anyone???

A couple weeks ago Winston and I drove to San Antonio for Jonathan (Winston's brother) and Nicole's wedding. We actually split the trip into two days and spent the night in Lubbock Texas. It was nice to get out of the car for a little bit and have a good night's rest. Winston grew up eating at some Mexican place called Casa Ole and he absolutely loves it. So, when we drove by it on our way to the hotel I didn't even have to ask him where he wanted to eat dinner. I knew we were eating at Casa Ole. To be honest with you...it's pretty nasty! But looking on the bright side the service was good. :)

This is Winston, his dad, and brother Jonathan the night before the wedding.

Jonathan and Nicole got married in the San Antonio temple and then had their reception in Boerne. It was a beautiful day, but was very windy and cold.

Reservations vs. Cooking

Last year when my mom and dad came for Thanksgiving, we made reservations at the Marriott and had dinner prepared, served and cleaned up for us. It was great. We walked right in, sat down, ate a great meal and then spent the rest of the day napping, playing games, and watching tons of football. For Christmas last year we got a turkey fryer as a gift.....and so, we really wanted to try it out this year. Needless to say it was a completely different day than last Thanksgiving. My mom and I literally cooked from 9AM-3:30PM, ate for 20 minutes and then had to clean everything up. Although it was fun to spend time with mom learning how to cook - I think until we have a family we may just be making reservations at the local Marriott from now on!

Thanksgiving Week

My mom and dad came to visit us for Thanksgiving. On Sunday afternoon we went for a drive. Look what we came across.

Latin Grammy's

This is my friend Becky and her dad.....aka "Big Bass Brian."
They are on the green carpet at the Latin Grammy Awards.
Big Bass is a big time Mastering Engineer in LA and was up for a Grammy.
Isn't Becky beautiful? :)

It's getting cold!

A couple weekends ago I finally had a Saturday off! Yea! We really wanted to do something in the mountains, but by the time we finally left the house it was a little late in the day. So....we just ended up going on a drive. It was really cold AND windy!

This was taken at Dillon Lake near Breckenridge. Harley was lovin the water.

Elk Hunting Season

Elk hunting season begins on October 20th - Winston is going to Chromo, Colorado with some friends to hunt elk for a couple of days. He has been preparing for this trip for the last couple of weeks. He was so excited to see this herd of elk right by our house. Too bad it wasn't the 20th yet! :)

Wild Turkeys

A couple weeks ago Winston and I took a Sunday afternoon drive (trying to get some time together after church and before my weekly meetings!) and we ran into a group of turkeys. I'm not quite sure what the term is for a bunch of turkeys....flock?
